In 2008, In Our Own Voices, Inc. hosted our first LGBTQ+ BIPOC Health Summit. That year, over 150 scholars, administrators, activists, and students gathered to reflect on the status of health and wellness, substance use, spirituality, and political advocacy within the LGBTQ+ BIPOC community.

By 2011, this statewide summit grew into a national conference: Unity Through Diversity: The Power of Unity! As we enter into our 25th year of strengthening and empowering LGBTQ+ BIPOC communities, we’re so proud to announce that the next Unity Through Diversity: The Power of Unity National Health Conference will be held in-person from October 25 to October 29, 2023 at the Hilton in Albany, New York!

The purpose of the Unity through Diversity Health Conference is to lift up the voices of LGBTQ+ BIPOC communities, while promoting social justice, healthy sexuality, violence-free living, social activism, and safer spaces. The Call for Proposals for this year’s Health Conference is now open, and we’re seeking proposals for active and engaging workshops that address these topics!

Proposals must be emailed to utd@inourownvoices.org by August 15, 2023.
